Poster and concept development - Two stream tour

Background

As part of a school project, we have made an interactive tour for the museum Tweestroomland.

The Tour is an AR experience where you walk trough a tour that brings the life back to the museum! The story is set in the 1920s. There are 4 different characters, Kees the butcher, Peter the trader, Fientje the grocer and Jacob the rascal.

At the beginning of the museum, these characters are introduced through large posters. If you want to follow the tour, you will receive an iPad from the museum that contains the app. In the app you can read up on the characters and choose who appeals to you the most. When you have chosen a character, your tour begins.

The museum is a village where all these characters live. They will take you through all the rooms using AR. Storytelling is used in the explanation: They tell about the history but also about their own experiences in the village, each character has its own personality with its own unique stories. The app tells you where to go. Then you get a story about the room and its history. When you have listened to this story, you can see for yourself which objects you are interested in. If you want to know more about something, scan the corresponding QR code. The chosen character returns, he or she tells about the object and also interacts with it. In some cases the character will show how an old scale is used and the character can also accidentally knock over an expensive vase.

Because the characters are interacting with the normally static objects, we bring back live to the museum!
